Welcome to 4Thought101 (the "Service"), operated by 4Thought101, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create and control the account on your behalf and agree to these Terms. 4Thought101 is a United States service for students and families planning education, training and careers in the United States. We offer it only in the United States and do not market it in other countries.
For an account created for a student under 18 (a "supervised account"), the parent or legal guardian is the contracting party under these Terms, accepts these Terms on the student's behalf, and controls the account. The student receives a supervised login and uses the Service under the parent's or guardian's supervision. Supervised accounts are available only for students who are at least 13 years old.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@4thought101.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
For a supervised account, the parent or legal guardian who created the account is responsible for the account, including the student's supervised login and all activity under it.
4Thought101 helps students and families plan what comes after high school, whether that is a four-year or community college, a trade program, an apprenticeship, a certificate program, military service, or another path, and keep the applications, deadlines, scholarships, costs, and related notes for it in one place. The Service includes AI-assisted features that generate suggestions, summaries, or drafts based on information you provide.
Ralph, the assistant inside the Service, and Help, our assistant for questions about using 4Thought101, are AI systems, not people. They run on Claude, a model made by Anthropic. Their intended purpose is to support planning and applications in the Service: keeping track of schools, programs, deadlines, tasks, scholarships, and costs.
Content generated by AI features inside the Service is informational only. It is not legal, financial, admissions, or academic advice. AI outputs can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it for application decisions, financial aid, or any other purpose.
No one at 4Thought101 reads or reviews chats, and we do not alert parents, schools, or anyone else about what is said in them. Parents and guardians should not rely on the Service to notice or report a student's safety, health, or wellbeing. Ralph is not a crisis service and is not a substitute for a counselor, doctor, or other professional. If you or someone else may be in danger, call or text 988, or call 911.

If we learn of content or activity that breaks these rules, we may remove it, suspend or close the account, and report it to law enforcement. We report content that sexually exploits a minor to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires.
You retain ownership of the information and files you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We do not sell Your Content.
The Service is currently offered as an open beta. “Beta” describes how finished the Service is and how much school information it holds. It does not change what you pay: the plans and prices in section 8 apply in full during the beta, and the beta is not a trial or a discount. By using the Service during the beta, you agree to the terms in this section.
The Service is a work in progress. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and the Service may contain errors or be unavailable at times. We may pause, modify, or end features of the Service, and we may suspend or close accounts, with or without cause, at any time.
During the beta, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You use the Service at your own risk. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any application deadlines, scholarship details, or other information in the Service, and you are responsible for verifying anything important directly with the relevant school or organization.
We welcome your feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback about the Service, you provide it voluntarily and grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, and incorporate that feedback into the Service or our business for any purpose, without any obligation (including any obligation to report on its use) or compensation to you. Your feedback is not your confidential information. You confirm that the feedback is your own and does not violate anyone else’s rights.
Some features or information may be clearly identified as confidential or “not yet public.” Please do not publicly share details of features we have identified as confidential until we release them. This does not stop you from talking about or recommending 4Thought101 generally, and we encourage it.
Accounts must be created and controlled by an adult who is 18 or older. How we handle the information you provide during the beta is described in our Privacy Policy. Because the Service is in beta, please do not rely on it as your only record of important information.
The Service offers three plans. Free costs nothing and covers one student, with limits on how many applications and scholarships you can track, and includes Help, an AI assistant for questions about using the Service. Solo is $59 per year for one student, with higher limits, recruiting tracking, and an annual allowance of sessions with Ralph, the AI assistant. Family is $99 per year, one flat price for two to four students in one household, with the same room for each student as Solo and the AI allowance shared across the household. If a Solo account adds a second student, the subscription changes to the Family plan automatically, and the difference is prorated to your existing renewal date. The current limits and allowances are shown on the pricing page. Every plan also carries an upper ceiling, which exists to prevent automated abuse rather than to restrict any genuine student. Some accounts hold complimentary or discounted access granted directly by us; where that applies, the terms of that access are stated to the account holder and shown in Settings.
Payments are processed by our payment processor; we never store your card details. The subscription renews automatically each year at the then-current price, and we will email you a reminder before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from Settings, then Billing, and your access continues through the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds: if you request one within 7 calendar days of your first purchase, we will refund it in full, no questions asked. If you are charged for a renewal you did not want, contact us within 30 calendar days of that charge and we will refund it in full. Billing errors and duplicate charges are always refunded. Send refund requests to the support address below.
If we change subscription pricing, we will give you advance notice and the new price applies at your next renewal, not mid-cycle. A parent or guardian may complete the purchase on a student's behalf; whoever completes checkout must be 18 or older and authorized to use the payment method.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us to legal or security risk. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, and we may delete Your Content per our retention practices described in our Privacy Policy.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, 4THOUGHT101, INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 4Thought101, Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give you notice through the Service or by email. Continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
