Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how 4Thought101 ("4Thought101," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with our websites and online services (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They enable the website to recognize your device and remember information such as your login status and preferences. We also use similar technologies, such as browser local storage and session storage, for comparable purposes.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

Strictly necessary

These technologies are required for the Service to function. They help keep you signed in, maintain a secure session, and remember basic settings. The Service cannot operate properly without them, and they cannot be disabled through our settings.

Analytics

We do not currently use analytics or performance-tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this Policy and the categories described here.

Functional

These technologies remember choices you make (for example, interface preferences or dismissed onboarding prompts) to provide a more tailored experience. In our case, these are primarily implemented via browser local storage and session storage rather than traditional cookies.

3. Outside Services Your Browser Contacts

Some parts of the Service load straight from outside services: the map background and pin icons, and campus photos. Your browser contacts these services directly. They receive your IP address and what you are viewing, such as the map area or the school whose photo is shown, but none of your account data, and none is used for advertising. When we checked in October 2026, the Service loaded them without sending or keeping any of their cookies. Each of these services has its own privacy policy.

4. Managing Cookies and Similar Technologies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings, which typically allow you to block or delete cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you may not be able to sign in or use core features of the Service. You may also clear local storage and session storage via your browser's site settings or developer tools, which may reset certain preferences.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") signal or a "Global Privacy Control" ("GPC") setting. We do not use cookies for cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising, so there is no tracking for these signals to opt out of. Where the law treats a GPC or DNT signal as an opt-out request, we honor it; because we do not sell or share personal information, the signal does not change how we handle your data.

6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example, to reflect changes in the technologies we use or applicable legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy. Where required by law, we may also provide additional notice.

7. Contact

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies and similar technologies, you may contact us at support@4thought101.com.
